“Selling sustainability might be an odd idea for some and a boon for others. For us in IUCN it is the means to realize our vision of a just world that values and conserves nature, which would not be possible without green leaders, voters and consumers. Inspiring examples presented through the INTERNATIONAL GREEN AWARDS™ are helping to do just that – thanks to them, green is definitely in!”

In 1999, she received the AAAS Award for International Cooperation in Science. In 2008, she was awarded the “Chevalier de l’Ordre national de la Légion d’Honneur” by the French Government and was named Global Ambassador for Hungarian Culture. She is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society of the United Kingdom and a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science. She studied history, ecology and environmental planning in the USA and France.
