Asia Teak positions itself as market leaders in teak management with several large plantations under management in both Sri Lanka and Thailand which are recognised as excellent growing regions.

“We are particularly delighted to be sponsoring the trophies at this years green awards, especially as it is the year of the forest. We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously at AsiaTeak and understand and recognise the importance of supporting all aspects of climate for the future.”
Paul Rockwood – Managing director

One of the characteristics that sets asiateak aside is the that they combine biotechnical expertise with natural forestry methods. Their teak planting stock is grown from tissue culture as opposed from random seed .This advanced method creates teak trees that not only grow faster but ones that also show greater uniformity. This in turn produces greater volumes of timber per plantation which makes their teak trees particularly sought after.
By using superior planting stock creates faster growing trees. This in turn allows for greater sustainability as a business.

AsiaTeak takes it corporate social responsibility very seriously both environmentally and economically. the company cares very passionately about the trees they grow, the environment where they grow them and the people they employ. AsiaTeak works hard in local communities to not only provide as high a level of employment as possible but also enjoys low staff turnover by providing a high standard of employment. AsiaTeak enjoys board of investment approval in Sri Lanka and is currently working towards FSC accreditation on its plantations.
