The 6th International Green Awards are soon to host their glittering gala in London’s Natural History Museum and you can be there to meet the winners of the best in green. Not only will there be awards for the best in green business and product innovation, but also this year there is a new category – Best Green Celebrity.
Best Green Celebrity Shortlist
The shortlist has been selected by public vote and the three stars in the running are music legend Paul McCartney, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, and latin superstar Miguel Bosé. All three have long been famous for their environmental campaigning. Which star will be picking up the award on the night though?
Shortlisted entries now selected
The International Green Awards aim to cover the full gamut of ethical and environmental business initiatives with 20 award categories. These include the Best Green Entrepreneur Award, Best Green Government Award, and even Best Green Water Stewardship Award. All the categories have now been judged by a panel that includes David de Rothschild, Arianna Huffington, Tim Smitand even yours truly. You can see all the shortlisted entries on the Green Awards site.
Life Time Achievement Award
In addition to the Best Green Celebrity and other category awards there will be an overall winner of the Grand Prix award, plus a Lifetime Achievement Award given to an exceptional person who has dedicated their life to looking after the planet and encouraging others to do the same. Last year the honour was given to Sir David Attenborough in the International Year of Biodiversity. Sir David said of the Green Awards:
“Sustainability is a much discussed and debated issue, and thus communications have an integral place in promoting behavioural change. It is not enough to merely communicate the sustainability message, but it is imperative that it invokes the audience to think, analyse and question their existing behaviour. By recognising creative excellence in sustainability messages, the INTERNATIONAL GREEN AWARDS™ are a genuine effort to promote positive attitudes towards biodiversity and sustainability.”
Be at this year’s Green Gala
This year’s gala will be hosted on November 24th by nature TV presenter Phillipa Forrester and Leo Johnson, not only a successful sustainable finance consultant but also brother to London’s mayor Boris. For your chance to schmooze with the great and the good of the Green industries you can buy tickets to the gala and be at the International Green Awards to meet the winners in person.
